Witching Chronicles: Exploring The EL SUPREMO’s Signor Morte Improvvisa

EL SUPREMO is back with “Signor Morte Improvvisa,” and if you’re into psych rock, you’re in for a treat. Released on July 26th by ARGONAUTA Records, this instrumental album will be a frequent guest in your player!

Chad Heille, who originally started EL SUPREMO as a solo project in 2008, is the mastermind behind it all. With guitar solos from Tom Canning and Neal Stein, the project set its roots. Later, Chad and Neal joined the band EGYPT from 2012 to 2018, releasing albums and touring across 16 countries. After EGYPT disbanded, they brought EL SUPREMO back to life, blending psychedelic, melodic, heavy, and doomy sounds with influences from classic rock, stoner rock, blues, and old-school metal.

The album kicks off with rich, reverb-soaked guitars and complex melodies that pull you right in. The title, “Signor Morte Improvvisa” (or “Mr. Sudden Death”), gives you a hint of what to expect: a mix of beauty and darkness, light and shadow. Tracks like “Breadwinner” and “Signor Morte Improvvisa” show off the band’s talent for crafting detailed, long, and absorbing musical journeys.

Some tracks start with a serene, meditative riff that slowly builds into a massive, cosmic sound. This captures the essence of classic psychedelic rock with its blend of dreamy and intense elements.

Even without vocals, the album speaks volumes. Each instrument tells its own part of the story, conveying emotions and themes that words might struggle to capture.

“Signor Morte Improvvisa” invites you to lose yourself in its soundscapes, exploring the highs and lows of your own mind!
